Very nice lake south of Sonoita. Not many lakes in this area of Arizona, so this is nice to have. Store with boat, kayak and paddle board rentals.
Such a beautiful and fun lake to fish, swim, and hike around 🥰 had good luck fishing the past couple of times we went! Two big catfish and three Bluegills for filleting and lots of little fun ones! Pretty good shady spots all around the lake as well. If you should forget anything, the little store is well stocked. It's only $8 for the day and they have a credit card machine should you not have any cash. Lots of parking and handicap accessible spots as well. One of our favorite lakes to spend the day!
Our adventure out to Parker Canyon was fantastic, it rained most of the time but we were packed and read for it. Not as many people as usual, quiet and calm since the rain chased everyone away but just such a nice place to be.
We were able to use our National Park card, for free entry.
This place has rustic camping, plus a boat launch. There's a nice walkway, with benches.
We took a lunch break, and just enjoyed the beautiful view.
Visiting from nyc and its my first time here! The people who work here were attentive and sweet! Did the pedal boats and it was so relaxing. What a great time!!

Boat rental, friendly service and very helpful. You can tell the owner Scott truly loves want he does, the area and the people. It is amazing how he gets so much in to a little store and keeps it stocked. When someone needs or wants something special he does he's best to get it in the store. To have a place that is this far away from everything you would think he's prices would be higher. But you actually could come with nothing. Stay for the whole weekend at a reasonable price. By buying everything in the store you need. One of the great lake stores I've ever been too.
This was my first time visiting this lake, and while getting there was quite the haul, there is some beautiful country to see along the way, and the lake and park grounds were clean, peaceful, and larger than I expected.

Pro tip, even though their voicemail and website indicate they are currently open 7 days we found out the hard way that the kayak and marina are closed Tuesday and Wednesday. (I’ve submitted the update to the hours just now)
Tons of parking and a nice big lake. East hikes around but also adjacent to an AZT segment trail head if you fancy!
Paved road goes all the way down, and dirt roads nearby are in great shape.
